Learning aids are supplementary resources

These games are learning aids that can be used as a supplement to any mathematics curriculum.

Users should know that this program does not cover geometry, measurement, data representation, money, time, probability, estimation, or most kinds of arithmetic operations on large numbers.

It does not include real-world applications of arithmetic principles (a.k.a. “story problems”).

It also does not include open-ended questions that would require learners to use their mathematical creativity to develop their own approaches and formulate their own problems. For more on this concept, one good starting point is Francis Su’s discussion of learners as “mathematical explorers”. (Su 2020, p. 12-14)
