What if your curriculum uses different terminology?

It is common for multiple terms for the same concept to be used in mathematics. If the rules printed on the game use a different term from the term your curriculum uses, you can still use the game.

For example, if your curriculum calls the equals sign “the equality symbol” or “the equal sign”, you can still play “Equals sign”. Just cross out the term your curriculum does not use, and write in the term it uses.

If your learners ask, you can tell them “‘Equals sign’ is a name some people use, but here we say ‘equality symbol’.” They will understand.
